Sept 20, Coinjock, NC

As we left the Norfolk/Portsmouth area, there were lots of Navy Warships at the docks.

Stealth Destroyer.

In dry dock.

Aircraft Carrier.

We moved south on the Intercoastal Waterway, through 12 bridges many of which had restricted opening schedules, and then one lock at Great bridge, to Coinjock, North Carolina.

A parade of yachts heading south. IRISH ROVER, Coral Gables, Fla; CARIAD, Georgetown, BVI; MOVIN ON, Wilmington, Del; ASTRELLE, Falmouth, Mass.; followed by KOKOMO II, Stuart, Fla.
We went through several bridges together today.

Several noisy Navy planes were practicing nearby.

Large brush fire at Mackay Island Nat'l Wildlife Refuge on Knotts Island.

We traveled a total of 50 miles.

Coinjock Marina and Restaurant.

We are staying at the Coinjock Marina which is famous for the Prime Rib at their restaurant. There is a 32 ounce Captains cut or 14 ounces for the mates cut. The prime rib did not disappoint. Delicious!
