Sept 6, Atlantic City, NJ

New york Harbor is always one of the highlights of our trip. Today was no exception. The weather was beautiful and the skies were clear.

Newport Marina.

Entrance to Newport Marina.
Path subway to Manhattan, Weston and Marriott Courtyard hotels, large mall with movie theaters, grocery and several good restaurants.
Could be a good place to spend the summer season ($85/ft).

Midtown as we leave the marina.

Downtown as we leave the marina.

Close up of downtown where the World Trade Center stood.

Jersey City is looking good, too.

Abandoned ferry building.

Ellis Island.

Statue of Liberty as we approach.

Few restrictions for pleasure boats lets us get close.

We are half way to Staten Island looking back at lower Manhattan.

Ft Washington under the Verazannos Bridge.

Tanker BRITISH SERENITY offloads some liquid fuel to a barge.

About a dozen ships are anchored in NY Harbor.

We left NYC with calm weather and ran outside about 90 miles to Atlantic City, NJ. We motored some at 8 knots and ran some at 18.

Kammerman's Marina in Atlantic City.

Arrived at Atlantic City after a long day and are staying at Kammerman's Marina with power and no internet. Guide says a restaurant is nearby but it turns out to be about a mile. Too much after a long day. We are happy to be off the water today.
