Sept 19, Portsmouth, VA

We moved 50 miles south today in the Chesapeake Bay in calm waters and ended up at the bottom of the Chesapeake in Portsmouth, Virginia.

There is a large US Navy presence here at Hampton Roads, Virginia, and it is always interesting to motor past part of the US Navy fleet.

Destroyer and Aircraft Carrier.

Sailboat has beautiful 'red sails' as we approach Norfolk, VA.

We are docked at Ocean Marine, near downtown Portsmouth, and across the harbor from Norfolk where we have docked before. Thought we would try something new. There is a festival in progress just ashore from the marina. Active place on a Sunday.

We are at 'mile marker' -0- of the intercoastal waterway. Stuart is 985 miles. We're heading home.
