Aug 9, Prescott, ON

We moved 25 miles today, west on the St Lawrence River. Found a large freighter as we left the harbor at Crysler Park and then headed to the Iroquois Lock (Lock #7) our last big Seaway Lock on our trip.

ASPHALT CARRIER is in the channel as we head out this morning.

Pretty farm fronts the St Lawrence.

A large ship is just exiting the Iroquois Lock as we arrive. Iroquois Lock raises us only 4". That's right - only four inches. Hardly worth locking through.
Must be some good reason for this lock during times of high water.

As we exit the Iroquois Lock
another ship waits to lock through the 4".

Fuel barge being pushed by a tug.

Bridge between Ogdensburg, NY and Prescott, ON.
This is one of only two bridges to connect Canada and the US in the whole area.

Very large grain elevator.

Lighthouse near Prescott, ON.

We are at the Sandra Lawn Harbor Marina in Prescott, Ontario right across the st Lawrence River from Ogdensburg, NY.

Approaching Prescott, ON.

Sandra Lawn Marina is in a riverfront park.

Downtown Prescott, Ontario.

This is a nice little town with Shakespeare in the Park several times a week.

Shakespeare is performed here in this waterfront theater.
But not on Mondays. Tickets are $60. Impressive.

The 'bard'?
