June 9, Colonial Beach, VA

We moved from Deltaville, back out into the Chesapeake and then around Smith Point and into the Potomac River and up to Colonial Beach, Virginia which is a small resort area for second homes and boaters.

As we head up the Potomac River we pass some marked shoals.

Eroding of the hills on the shore.

We moved off the Potomac into Monroe Creek and are staying at the Colonial Beach Yacht Center which is the first marina inside the creek. Nice restaurant here at the marina.

Approaching Colonial Beach

Colonial Beach Marina is not a showplace.
But the prime rib was good.

We took a cab into town to see the sights and asked the cab driver to drop us somewhere and then pick us up an hour later. He looked at us kind of funny and drove us through town giving us the narrative and then drove us back to the boat. Nowhere to walk. Enjoyed seeing the town but not much of interest here.
