June 2, Beaufort, NC

Damage to a bridge fender. Not a good day for some boater.
Looks like something big, like a barge.

A dive shop in Morehead City. There are many, many, many wrecks near here on the outer banks. Makes for interesting diving.

Morehead City as we pass through

Moved twenty-five miles to Beaufort (BOW-fort) and are docked at the very nice Beaufort Marina with the town promenade adjacent to the docks. Great place to be and one of our favorite stops on the Intercoastal trip heading north. Last time here in 2007 we met Chuck and Charlotte when they boarded the boat and traveled with us to Norfolk. Nice memories.

Approaching Beaufort docks and downtown.

SEA JEWEL (96 feet) dwarfs KOKOMO II at the dock. Next to KOKOMO, a French sailboat GRADIVA (about 50 feet) has just completed the trip from Palma in the Spain to the USA. Meet some interesting people at the docks.

Town has some nice shops and restaurants very close to the boat and we enjoy a nice day in Beaufort, NC.

Hibiscus flower as big as a salad plate.

Boardwalk at Beaufort.

There are several large boats here tonight. Dinner at Aqua, the same restaurant we enjoyed in 2007. Very nice again.
