June 13, Hawkesbury, ON
Left St-Anne-de-Bellevue about 9 am and head west toward Ottawa. We immediately went through St-Anne-de-Bellevue Lock, our first lock where we use our Canadian Season Pass, and enter Lac Des Deux Montages (Lake of the two Montages). Pretty weather, sunny with temperatures in the mid 70's.
After a run of about 25 miles we transit a second lock, the Carillon Lock, which is rather large and our lift is about 60 feet. This lock and the last one have a floating dock inside the lock which floats up and down as the water level in the lock changes. We like this idea as we tie ourselves tight to this floating dock and go up with the dock in this very big (height wise) lock.
On another 20 miles to Hawkesbury where we stay overnight at the Golden Anchor Marina. Very nice people but no much here. Only a single 30 amp, so no power tonight. We use the generator and have dinner aboard.
