Woke up to an overcast day in Sag harbor and we took a walk to see the Whaling Museum. We found it but it closed for the season at the end of September so we missed it. Nice walk. Nice town. Little cooler, about 65.

We motored about 10 miles west around Shelter Island, in the "fishtail" area of Long Island (the area looks like a "fishtail" on the maps and charts).

As we arrive off Greenport, we motored into the small harbor on Shelter Island. The shops and restaurants and the yacht club all look closed up for the season. We moved across the harbor to the more active area and are docked at Claudio's Marina in Greenport, New York, back on the Long Island mainland.

Greenport is a very nice town that services the summer people (who are now coming back weekends in the fall) and then pretty well closes up after Thanksgiving to reopen in April or so. There are lots of nautical stores here, grocery, drug store, restaurants, barber shop, post office and several thrift stores (always a favorite with us).

We like Greenport as it seems small town but has most everything we could want within walking distance of the boat. Overcast and grey all day but pleasant.
