July 15, Clinton, CT

We moved another 5 miles east on the Long Island Sound today. It was a hazy day and seas were 1-2 feet, without whitecaps. It was not rough but was a little rolly. We motored close to shore today and could see several beach areas with lots of folks taking advantage of a nice summer Sunday. We enter the winding Hammonasset River and stay at the large Cedar Island Marina.

They have a local boat show here this weekend so things are very active. Several people are walking the docks and look at our boat as if they are shopping. We are enjoying the attention. The town of Clinton is about a mile inland from the marina and we find we have a courtesy van with a driver available. So, we get a nice tour of the town and a trip to the grocery. Evening brings some storm clouds and we batten down the hatches.
