Oct 2, Clifton, TN

Big storm with lightning and thunder passed through overnight, and today is clear and pretty again. Temperature is in the low 70's, water temperature is 77 and we have clear skies.

Some pretty tall hills on the Tennessee.

Lots of variety.

Rock strata showing through.

We moved 25 miles south (upstream) on the Tennessee River to Clifton, Tennessee. We are at the Clifton Marina, a relatively small marina (two transient spots) with a small restaurant and working internet. Friendly people.

Approaching the town of Clifton from the water.
Looks charming.

Clifton Marina.

They have a loaner car so we visit the small town of Clifton. Clifton has a lot of history as a river town but is now struggling. Our marina owner says most boaters come from Memphis, three hours from here, to 'get away'.
