As we left Midland, the day started out overcast, quite warm and humid (mid 80’s) but it did not last. The tail end of Hurricane Ike is blowing itself out and causing thunderstorms as far north as Chicago and Detroit and into southern Canada. The rain with some wind (15-20 mph) reached us after lunch and we finished our day in the rain and is continuing through the evening with the wind building into the overnight.
We covered about forty miles today from Midland to the very small community of Sans Souci on Frying Pan Island and stay overnight at Henry’s Fish Restaurant at the restaurant dock with power. We manage to get ashore to Henry’s famous restaurant in the rain. The locally caught Pickeral is everyone’s favorite.
