July 7, CosCob/Greenwich CT

Left the marina at City Island with some excitement. Small boat in the next slip sunk and marina staff running around trying to salvage what they can.

We leave the big bridges and Manhattan skyline behind

Summer is time for small sailors to learn how to race the small boats

We are moving about 10 miles to the Palmer Point Marina in the harbor at Cos Cob, which is a short cab ride away from Greenwich. The weather is calm and it is a nice boat ride. Lots of big, pretty homes on the water and a really nice setting for the marina.

This marina is part of a condominium complex with the slips owned by individuals who rent them out when their own boats are away.

One of the nicest settings for a marina that we have seen

We find Greenwich a mixture of stores from Tiffany's and Sak's to restaurants, beer bars and a barbershops.

We both get our haircut and for Owen it has been 10 weeks. Ron and Cathie said Owen was almost ready for a ponytail. Owen said he would but the long hair was causing an itch behind his ears. Had a nice walk "down the hill" on the main street in Greenwich and saw the whole commercial part of town. Had a nice dinner and back to the boat early. Slept well.
