We are staying at Gordon's Yacht Harbor marina in Bobcaygeon where we have 50 amp power and very good internet. We are about a ten minute walk to town.
This is a nice stop. Bobcaygeon (Indian word which means "narrow place between two rocks where the water rushes through") is a lively village with one stoplight that considers itself "the hub of the Kawartha's".
The first lock on the Trent-Severn Waterway, Bobcaygeon (now lock # 32) is consistently one of the busiest. The lockmasters communicate with boaters using a public address system and, since Bobcaygeon is often the first lock that rental houseboats approach, the staff is prepared to help. There are always a few tourists and locals watching the boats lock through.
Bigley's is the largest store in town and specializes in ladies shoes. It is a local landmark and known for miles around. These is also a nice grocery, drugstore, bakery and several restaurants. Another clear and beautiful day.
