Chateau Montebello is said to be the largest wooden structure in the world. Built in 1930 from red cedar logs hauled in by rail from British Columbia, it was constructed in only one summer season by 3,500 workmen. We are staying in the marina and take a tour of the property. The structure is monumental and done in the style of granite stone mixed with cedar logs. We see lots to do here to make any one's stay enjoyable. We have lunch in the main dining room (cold buffet is huge) and it is fabulous. Linda says it reminds her of one of the legendary buffet's at Mono's club in Boca Raton.

This is a great stop on our way to Ottawa.
